Have you ever wondered what it is like to work with a wedding planner? Do you wonder what the journey might entail?
Today I’m sharing with you a high-level overview of my process and what to expect when you work with me (when hired as a wedding planner). One of the main reasons for hiring a wedding planner is to eliminate stress. If you don’t know what’s going on or what’s coming up, you will become stressed.
It all begins when you contact me for the time. You will receive your personalised response within 48 hours. On average, it’s 24 hours. However, I say 48 hours in case I have an urgent appointment to attend. I take the information you have provided and answer appropriately. If you have requested a call-back, I will give you a call, not an email.
Following the initial information, I will arrange a call for a consultation (face-to-face or video call). The discussion is to allow to ask any question you may have and to meet me. It is crucial to select a wedding planner that you trust. You may be working together for over a year, so you don’t want a planner where your personalities clash.
Before the consultation, I send out a brief questionnaire. It captures vital information and provides a basis for the meeting. Thus, saving time for the important stuff.
At the consultation, we will talk in high-level detail around your wedding and you as a couple. I love weddings built on personalities, which means I need to know who you are. It also allows for a wedding design unique to you. The meeting is an opportunity for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have.
Once all the questions are answered, and I have a good understanding of your requirements, I explain the next steps. Within 48 hours, you will receive your proposal detailing key items we discussed and my fee along with a breakdown. I also included a proposed start date for the initial meeting so we can get started as soon as the contract is signed.
Once the contract is signed, the work starts. The initial meeting will go ahead at the agreed date and time. This session focuses on your budget and priorities. It is crucial to get this sorted at the start. This allows the venue and supplier sourcing phases to go smoothly.
Your wedding planning journey is split into work streams to allow easy management and tracking. The work streams can vary depending on the type of wedding you are having, but typically they include:
Each phase will be planned to reflect your timelines. Some work stream timelines may overlap others; this is normal.
Throughout the journey, you will know what’s going on. You will receive budget updates regularly. The regular calls (as agreed in the proposal) give you updates on the progress made to date and let you see what is coming up.
I take away the stress and time required to plan your wedding; giving you time to spend as you typically would without worrying about finding the perfect supplier. I do not take over. I use my expertise, experience and training to guide you through the process and provide supporting information to help you make decisions in confidence.

My planning service is charged at a set percentage of your budget with a minimum fee of £5,000. Fee is 15% for marquee and dry hire weddings.
